I’m working in a series of portraits of a very talented Opera singer: Katharina Hagopian’s webpage here you take a look at the first one

German soprano Katharina Hagopian has been praised by national and international press for her “hauntingly beautiful colors”, “ethereal top voice” and “differentiated and deep portrayals” of major operatic roles. Her most recent performance as Alcina was received enthusiastically by the press: “Her voice full of heat as the sorceress Alcina, the soprano Katharina Hagopian was sometimes poignantly needy and sometimes a funny caricature of rage” (The New York Times), “With her warm soprano, Katharina Hagopian interprets wonderfully the sorceress’s sufferings and presents her anger in a truly dramatic manner” (Online Music Magazine), her “pure tone and vocal ripeness meets erotic flair” (Grenzecho), and “her phenomenal performance balances heart-warming singing with stage presence, especially in her sensational interpretation of the aria ‘Ombre Pallide'” (Aachener Zeitung). She has performed as soloist in recitals including Schumannfest Düsseldorf, Carnegie Hall, Philharmonie Essen, Philharmonic Hall Ljubljana and International Festivals for Contemporary Music in Germany and Belgium. Ms Hagopian has been featured in radio and CD recordings, and is the 1st Prize Winner of the European Art-Song-Competition “Euriade Vocal Concours Kerkrade” (Netherlands), as well as 2nd Prize Winner of the competition “Ton und Erklärung”, Preis der deutschen Wirtschaft (Germany).

Katharina is not only a talented opera singer but a great person who did my job not only super easy but also very pleasant.  I ‘m sure in her portraits you will feel something more than just a beautiful face. If you open your eyes, you’ll see how comfortable she is in front of a camera, how she seduces it. That is something difficult to find in people that are not models, because it requires a strong personality. Something that she had in combination with a good proportion of cheery personality.

I hope you liked the result of this first portrait of her, because there are coming more soon!

If you want to hear her singing you can find her videos at Katharina Hagopian’s webpage (videos), but if you feel lazy but curious you can play this (she is the lady with the snake dress):
